Oil Burner Troubleshooting and Solutions
Are you experiencing a knocking noise? This is an indication that air has gained access to the lines. You solve this by a process called bleeding. Don’t try to do it yourself if you are not sure on how to approach this problem. The safest thing to do is consult an emergency oil burner service Long Island provider.
If the sound is that of a whistling, the first thing to check is the filter. This problem is the product of blocked air in the oil burner. Another thing responsible for this is the accumulation of dust and dirt. Instead of cleaning the filter, consider replacing it. It is always advisable to replace the filter every three months.
A high-pitched, squealing, or screeching sound often indicate an issue with the blower motor or belt. The common problem with this will be the belt slipping. You can change the tension if the belt seems to be loose. You can also consult with us to inspect the belt for any say of fraying or wearing out.
Are you experiencing a grinding noise, for safety reasons, the oil burner should be shut down? This problem occurs mostly with the motor bearings. You will have to call a professional oil burner repairer to fix it rather than doing it yourself.
Your oil burner can make a sporadic sound as it is turning off and on. In this situation, the air filter should be checked first. After this, examine the oil supply if you feel the filter is in good condition. Once these two processes are done and yet there is no obvious detection of the problem, it is time to call a professional.
